Mr. Montminy founded and leads our firm, spearheading its operations, growth and client assignments across the globe in all facets of corporate finance. For over 20 years, Mr. Montminy has led professional service firms and initiated cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, leveraged and management buyouts, and private placements of equity securities, restructurings, business valuations, fairness opinions and strategic advisory assignments. He has advised founders, CEO's and boards of both private and public companies, in a wide range of industries including food and beverage, consumer products, retail, hospitality & leisure, business services, technology and entertainment. Mr. Montminy has led CM&Co.'s most notable transactions, including setting market pinnacle values for sell-side transactions. Prior to forming CM&Co., Mr. Montminy was a Managing Director of Los-Angeles-based boutique investment bank Grief & Co., leading a broad range of middle market transactions and co-managing the firm’s expansion with its founder. He was previously Director of Business Development for multinational law firm Arter & Hadden, LLP and served on the firm's Management Committee.
Mr. Montminy frequently speaks on various corporate finance topics, is quoted by the financial press and has received several finance industry awards for transactional success. Mr. Montminy is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the premier leadership organization of chief executives in the world. He has served in over a dozen YPO leadership positions, including YPO Board of Directors from 2017–2020. Mr. Montminy is currently a member of several private company board of directors, including the CREO Group, LLC. He actively supports charitable organizations related to youth, arts, and the environment. Mr. Montminy holds an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and attended Case Western Reserve School of Law. He holds a B.A. Summa Cum Laude from Mercyhurst University, where he was an Academic All-American in ice hockey. Mr. Montminy is registered with FINRA and holds the Series 24, 7, 79 and 63 licenses.
Mr. Allan has over 25 years of diversified investment banking and asset management experience. Mr. Allan was the President of the Los Angeles Investment Company, LLC, a privately held company that provided advisory services. Previously Mr. Allen served senior leadership positions in the investment banking and hedge fund industry with Cargill, Lehman, Goldman Sachs and Jefferies. Mr. Allan led the MBO of Cargill Investor Services, founding and launching Goals Soccer Centers in the United States. Mr. Allan began his career in his hometown Edinburgh with top asset manager, Ivory and Sime, following his graduation with a degree in accounting. Mr. Allan is registered with FINRA and holds Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses and is currently a director of Pasturebird, Inc and Nabthat, Inc.
Mr. Bratter has over 23 years of diversified financial experience in the areas of investment banking and commercial banking. He has completed a wide variety of corporate finance transactions including cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, leveraged and management buyouts, underwriting initial and secondary public offerings, private placements of debt and equity securities. Prior to joining CM&Co., Mr. Bratter founded Bratter Enterprises, LLC - an advisory firm providing financial market expertise to middle-market growth companies. Previously, Mr. Bratter was a Senior Vice President with Greif & Co., where he was involved in many of the firms' most notable transactions. Prior to that, he was Vice President in the Corporate Finance Group with Van Kasper & Co., and Vice President with Bank of California in the Commercial Lending Group. Mr. Bratter holds an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California where he graduated with Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma business honors and a B.S. in Finance from San Diego State University. Mr. Bratter is registered with FINRA and holds the Series 7, 79 and 63 licenses.
Mr. Fitchey brings over 30 years of extensive experience in private equity and operations having founded and managed various investment funds and companies in the U.S., Europe and South Africa, with total invested capital of over $2 billion. Prior to CM&Co., Mr. Fitchey served as the Managing General Partner of British Pacific Partners, a Los Angeles-based advisory firm and merchant bank. Prior to that, Mr. Fitchey was the founder and Managing Partner of M Plus Capital Partners LP, a $100 million leveraged structured equity fund. Previously, Mr. Fitchey was a co-founder and Senior Managing Director of St. Cloud Capital LLC, a Los Angeles based Debenture SBIC. He was also a co-founder and Chairman/CEO of European Capital Ventures plc, a London-based equity fund focused on creating and building pan-European companies. In addition, Mr. Fitchey was also a co-founder and Partner of Dartford Partners LLC, a San Francisco based entity which created Aurora Foods. In addition, as part of Dartford, he formed, raised the unique funding, and provided onsite management of a new independent PepsiCo bottler in South Africa, which became the first major American brand to re-enter South Africa in 1994 post-Apartheid. Mr. Fitchey started his career in consulting as a Vice-President with AT Kearney and Strategic Planning Associates. He was subsequently a corporate Vice-President at PepsiCo where he was responsible for all planning and corporate acquisition related activities.
Mr. Koenig has over 25-years of diverse financial services experience in the areas of corporate banking; leverage finance; subordinated debt financing; equipment leasing; commercial real estate finance; and both primary and secondary loan syndications and trading. Mr. Koenig has completed over $1.5 billion in both senior and subordinated debt/lease transactions encompassing management led buyouts; M&A; international financings; complex commercial real estate; and various structured debt transactions. Before joining CM&Co., Mr. Koenig was the CEO and Director of Northwest Bank where he was responsible for leading the growth and setting the strategic direction of a 3-state, privately owned $500 million asset sized bank. Previously, Mr. Koenig was an Executive Vice President with Western Alliance Bank (NYSE: WAL) in Phoenix, Arizona where he managed various specialty banking groups including corporate finance, leverage finance, equipment leasing, municipal finance, resort finance, and the Bank’s equity investments in several SBIC funds. Prior to WAL, he was a SVP/Manager of Comerica Bank’s Arizona based Middle Market Banking Group. Prior to Comerica, Mr. Koenig was a Strategy Consultant with Anderson Consulting in Los Angeles where he advised clients on various aspects of brand strategy, efficiency enhancement, and value creation through EVA frameworks. Prior to Anderson, he was employed as a Vice President in the Real Estate Industries Division of City National Bank (CNB) in Los Angeles where he was responsible for financing numerous large construction projects and established the bank’s real estate mezzanine finance program. Prior to CNB, Mr. Koenig was employed with both Weyerhaeuser Reality Ventures and with Home Capital Development Group where he was a financial analyst in their respective real estate private equity groups, responsible for analyzing the viability of both new commercial and subdivision development projects. Mr. Koenig holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Southern California where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma Honors and a B.A. in Economics from San Diego State University.
Mr. Laver brings to CM&Co. over 30 years of real estate development, operations, sales and investments for some of North America’s premier companies. He was a national Partner of Trammell Crow Company in the early 1990s, Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Properties, and the first President of its facilities management business (now BrookfieldGIS). Mr. Laver was also Chief Operating Officer and a founding Partner of Bentall Capital (now Bentall Kennedy). Since 2004, Mr. Laver has operated and led several companies in the lifestyle real estate sector. He was President of Intrawest's luxury residence club division, where he developed and sold successful resort projects in California, Colorado, and Canada. Mr. Laver was also President of the global sales and marketing firm Playground, where his teams sold over $4 billion of real estate in 15 countries. In 2009 he co-founded Forte International, a lifestyle real estate marketing/sales company that he continues to advise. In 2010 he became an owner of Sotheby's International Realty Canada, building it into the largest franchise for that brand prior to selling the business in 2014. Mr. Laver was educated at Principia College and Harvard Business School, and is an active participant and speaker at real estate industry associations in the US and Canada.
For over 30 years Mr. MacLean has served in senior executive roles for leading international apparel brands, including Liz Claiborne, Seven for All Mankind, Paige, Rock Revival, as well as executive roles at The Hudson Bay Company. Mr. MacLean brings to CM&Co., a consumer strategist whose seasoned hand has guided start-ups, turnarounds and fast growth businesses toward success. Mr. MacLean specializes in providing both public and privately-held companies clear focus toward enhancing long term brand equity. Over his career he has launched, re-launched and integrated high profile brands, established and leveraged international distribution networks, crafted complex business plans, identified and trained first rate talent, and strategically prepared businesses for executing exit strategies and near term liquidity events. The depth of his industry network allows Mr. MacLean to assess businesses from the bottom up-making them more cost-effective, organized, and smarter. He is a frequently sought after apparel industry expert, and has guest lectured at institutions such as the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Mr. MacLean graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor Degree in Enviromental Studies.
Mr. Riggins brings to CM&Co. over 30 years of experience in a variety of corporate finance activities including financial management, cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, valuation, turnarounds, strategic planning, business process design and business combinations. Prior to CM&Co., Mr. Riggins was Director of Client Services at the Corum Group and assisted in the completion of over $600 million in sell-side transactions for 20 clients in the software and IT Services industries. Previously, Mr. Riggins held senior leadership roles in three entrepreneurial companies, for which he raised capital, helped grow, and eventually led successful exits. Prior to that, Mr. Riggins spent 10 years at the ParaMarketing Group, a business strategy and marketing consultancy that helps clients develop go-to-market strategies for new products, service offerings and process redesigns where his clients included Adobe, IBM, Hitachi Data Systems, Cisco, Docent, Segate and Adaptec. Mr. Riggins started his career as an audit partner at KPMG Peat Marwick, where for 21 years he provided audit and financial services to a wide range of privately held and public clients. Mr. Riggins holds a Bachelor of Administration and Accounting Degree from the University of Washington, and previously was licensed as a CPA in Hawaii, Guam and Washington State.
Mr. John Simpson brings to CM&Co. over 20 years' executive experience in the software industry followed by 15 years of M&A advisory and strategic growth consulting services to mid-market technology organizations. Mr. Simpson's software career began in the early days of Silicon Valley, raising venture capital to found Analytica Inc., a PC productivity software start-up. Following its sale to Borland Software, he served in a variety of senior executive positions in large public software companies including DEC; BMC Software, Boole and Babbage; and Ingres Corporation. His career included several CXO roles, strategic channel development, and global operations. Mr. Simpson is a past member of Microsoft Windows Enterprise Advisory Board, and is a regular speaker at major software industry conventions. Before joining CM&Co., Mr. Simpson was a Managing Director at the Corum Group, driving 15 sell-side transactions for software companies collectively valued at over $200 million. Prior to that, he founded and ran Onyx Associates, a boutique M&A firm headquarterd in the San Francisco Bay Area, conducting sell-side transactions for over 20 privately-held mid-market companies. Mr. Simpson was educated in his native England, graduating with a degree in Computer Science from Surrey University.
Mr. Spector brings to CM&Co. a combined 40 years of experience in investment banking and operational leadership. He has successfully completed numerous transactions, advising both public and private companies on strategic alternatives, and served for more than two decades as CEO operating multiple food manufacturing companies. His skills include turnaround management, operations and financial restructurings and crisis management, Mr. Spector’s food industry expertise spans packaged snacks, meat, meat snacks, branded and private label consumer items, refrigerated and frozen foods, grocery/center of the store products, bakery and food distribution. Prior to joining CM&Co., Mr. Spector was a principal at JH Chapman Group, an operating partner at FocalPoint Investment Advisors, and head of consumer banking at Ferris Baker Watts, in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Spector was educated at both Ohio University and Johns Hopkins University, and completed the Harvard Business School’s Owner-President Management Program. He has served on the boards of Rymer Foods (NASDAQ:RYMR), La Parisienne Bakery, and the University of Maryland’s William Smith Graduate School of Business and Management-Dingman Center and currently serves on the board of Saval Foods and Deli Brands. Mr. Spector holds a Series 7 and 63 license.
Mr. Iqbal has seven years of diversified investment banking experience. He is involved in CM&Co.’s most notable transactions and supervises the firm's team of junior professionals. Prior to joining CM&Co., Mr. Iqbal was an Associate at Telos Advisors, a Los Angeles investment bank specializing in media & technology companies. While at Telos, Mr. Iqbal was integrally involved in the firm's M&A, private placement and strategic advisory practices. Prior to that, he was an industry generalist at New Century Capital Partners, where Mr. Iqbal advised a variety of privately-held companies in M&A and private placement transactions. Mr. Iqbal received his B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas. Mr. Iqbal is registered with FINRA and holds the Series 63 license.
Mr. On has six years of investment banking and private equity experience in a broad range of industries. Prior to joining CM&Co., Mr. On was a Senior Analyst at Gryphon Investors, a San Francisco-based middle market private equity firm. At Gryphon, Mr. On assisted with the sourcing, analyzing, structuring, financing and execution of transactions. Prior to that, he was an investment banking analyst at Wells Fargo Securities where he helped raise debt for companies across multiple industries as part of the Leveraged Finance Group. Mr. On received his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Michael Cohen has four years of generalist investment banking experience. Prior to CM&Co. he was an Analyst at Oberon Securities, LLC, a boutique investment bank headquartered in New York City. While at Oberon, Mr. Cohen focused on growth capital raising and mergers & acquisitions for the TMT, business services, retail and consumer industries. Prior to that Mr. Cohen was an Analyst at Ladenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc. where his team performed initial public offerings, follow-on capital raises, and private placement offerings for high yield investment vehicles. Mr. Cohen graduated from the University of Miami with a B.B.A and a concentration in Finance. Mr. Cohen is registered with FINRA and holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
Mr. Bernal has ten years of generalist management, investment banking and private equity experience. Prior to CM&Co., Mr. Bernal was an Intern Analyst at Arrowroot Capital, a private equity firm based in Santa Monica, CA. Mr. Bernal has particular expertise in mergers & acquisitions for the manufacturing, retail, consumer and business services industries. Prior to that, Mr. Bernal spent over seven years as a Project Manager for CJ Bernal Construction, a family-owned commercial and residential construction company, where he oversaw a myriad of construction projects from start to finish. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. major in economics and minor in accounting. Mr. Bernal is registered with FINRA and holds the Series 63 license.
Yao Lu has three years of generalist investment banking, asset management, and wealth management experience. Most recently, he was an Associate at Capital Stone Holdings, a privately held international private investment firm focusing on venture capital, buyouts, and real estate related asset management headquartered in Los Angeles. While at Capital Stone, Mr. Lu focused on fund raising and mergers & acquisitions for transactions in the real estate and food industries. Preceding his time at Capital Stone, Mr. Lu was an Associate at Ping An Trust Co., Ltd., where his group provides private wealth management and asset management services to institutional clients. Mr. Lu graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Economics.
Mr. Park brings to CM&Co. over 10 years of accounting experience in the financial services industry. He provides accounting support to CM&Co. and the CREO Group, including the accounting functions, preparation and consolidation of financial statements, analysis of management reports, general ledger, and budgeting. In conjunction with the firm's CEO, FINOP and outside auditors, Mr. Park handles associated regulatory filings including annual audit procedures. Previously he founded and led the Pro Academy Center. Mr. Park graduated from California State University, where he attained a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance.
Mr. George serves as the firm’s FINOP. He has over twenty years of experience as a Series 27 Principal and also maintains the FINRA Series 63 license. Mr. George has extensive hands-on knowledge of a full range of broker dealer accounting functions, finance, preparation and consolidation of financial statements, analysis of management reports, general ledger, budgeting, and all associated regulatory filings including annual audit procedures. In 2003, he founded FINOP Services, LLC to provide FINOP services for many types of broker-dealers including but not limited to: self-clearing firms, exchange member firms, municipal, research, introducing and investment banking broker-dealers. From 1987 through 1991, he worked as a Compliance Examiner at the Boston District of the NASD where he conducted examinations of self-clearing, market maker, municipal securities and general securities firms throughout the Northeast. Mr. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and is a licensed CPA.
Ms. Aguirre has over ten years of executive support experience focusing on financial industries. She is responsible for executive planning, office planning and coordinating the firm's compliance functions. Prior to CM&Co., Ms. Aguirre worked at Capital Group Companies and ING Direct. She brings to CM&Co. a variety of experience in logistical planning, compliance, reporting and a passion to grow the organization. Ms. Aguirre graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in Economics.
Ms. Lyon has over three years of accounting experience in the financial services industry and over six years providing administrative support in various industries. Prior to CM&Co., Ms. Lyon worked at GHC Housing Partners and Direct Cinema Limited. Ms. Lyon graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.A. in History and is currently working towards obtaining a CPA license.

Mr. Bortz serves as a Managing Partner of CREO Capital Partners and Chairman of the CREO Group. He has 25 years of experience in public market investing, private equity investing, investment banking and accounting. Prior to CREO, Mr. Bortz served as a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers focused on business and professional services sub-sectors, including the security, staffing, human capital management, facilities services, consulting services, marketing services and business process outsourcing sectors. Previously, Mr. Bortz served as a Vice President in investment banking at Credit Suisse, focusing on providing a full suite of investment banking services to mid- and large-cap companies in the Western United States. Prior to that, Mr. Bortz served as a senior manager in the business assurance practice at Ernst and Young. Mr. Bortz graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree. He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa as well as in England & Wales.
Mr. Holland is a Managing Partner of CREO Capital Partners and currently the CEO of Flagship Food Group, a diversified food company offering products and services in retail, logistics, foodservice and packaging. He has over 15 years of experience in operations, investment banking, and distressed investing. Previously, Mr. Holland was an Associate at Trust Company of the West, a $110 billion Los Angeles-based asset management firm. Prior to that, Mr. Holland was an Associate at Lehman Brothers where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions in the business services, engineering and construction, and real estate industries. Mr. Holland graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University where he attended as a Presidential Scholar.
Mr. Filliettaz is a 30-year veteran of the entertainment and technology industries having worked with all major Studios and Network Outlets such as Amazon, Apple, AT&T, CBS, DreamWorks, ESPN, FOX, Google, HBO, iTunes, Lionsgate, Microsoft, National Geographic, NBC, NETFLIX, PBS, PlayStation, TBS, Verizon, Vudu, Warner Brothers, WGBH, Xbox, YouTube. He currently serves as the COO of Carnegie Technologies’ Denali Studios, a multiplatform publishing group specializing in mobile games, celebrity brands, live streaming music, apps, and e-publishing. Mr. Filliettaz brings to CM&Co. over 20 years of experience helping entertainment industry firms continue to adapt by designing and managing relevant pivot strategies in the technology space. In 1993, Mr. Filliettaz founded the film and television fulfillment firm, 2G Digital and served as its CEO until 2013. Mr. Filliettaz attended Harvard Business School and graduated from Boston University with a BS in Communication and Media Studies.
Mr. Lukan has two years of experience in investment banking, equity research, and valuation. Prior to CM&Co., he was a summer financial analyst at Houlihan Lokey, focused on valuation. Prior to that, Mr. Lukan worked in equity research at Roth Capital Partners, covering consumer product and apparel companies. In 2018, he will graduate from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business Administration.
